Specially abled people set new world record in scaling Siachen Glacier

A team of eight specially-abled people reach Kumar Post at 15,632 feet on the Siachen Glacier under the Operation Blue Freedom initiative

New Delhi: A team of eight specially abled people created a world record on Sunday when they reached Kumar Post at 15,632 feet on the Siachen Glacier, the world's highest battle field.

The expedition of the team was organised as part of the Operation Blue Freedom, an expedition initiative started for selected people with disabilities from across the nation to scale Siachen Glacier.

Northern Command of the Indian Army lauded the Indian Army special forces veterans from CLAW Global (Elite Team of Former Special Forces soldiers) and the team members for the remarkable feat.

"A World record was created today when 8 specially-abled people reached Kumar Post at 15632 feet on Siachen glacier. #IndianArmy special forces veterans from @CLAW_Global and the grit of the team made Operation Blue Freedom a grand success," Northern Command, Indian Army said in an official tweet.
