New Delhi: The much anticipated talk with National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) will resume in New Delhi from next week.

The first round of talk is likely to take place on Monday during which Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma and Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio are likely to sit with Naga leadership.

The talk has been halted for last one year following differences between Naga leaders and former interlocutor RN Ravi over the formers demand for a separate flag and a constitution.

Talking to ETV Bharat on the developments, Cornelius Lana, president of Naga Forum Delhi, said, "We are expecting for an early solution of the vexed Naga political imbroglio. It's for a long time, the talk has been going on, and now its the right time to get a solution which can fulfil the hopes and inspiration of the Naga people."

Lana said said that the peace accord will have its reflection in across Northeast. The NSCN earlier has been demanding integration of all Naga inhabited areas of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur which was denied by the central government.

Representatives from Naga Political Group (NPG), a conglomerate of several Naga organisation will be present in the meeting. Sources in the Home Ministry told ETV Bharat that the meeting will be crucial as this is for the first time chief ministers of both the states will be present.

In the recent past Chief Minister Sarma has been asked by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene in the talk process so that the Naga peace accord can be signed at the earliest. Recently, both Rio and Sarma were engaged in talks to convince the NSCN (IM) leaders to persuade the Naga leaders for the negotiation.

The government has recently transferred interlocutor Ravi to Tamil Nadu as governor following demand raised by Naga leaders. Instead, former special director of IB AK Mishra has taken the responsibility to pursue the talk process. In fact, immediately after getting his new assignment, Mishra had two round of talks with Naga leader in Dimapur.

The NSCN-IM has been demanding implementation of the frame work agreement signed between the outfit and the central government in 2015 which stated "sharing the sovereign power, and provide for an enduring inclusive new relationship of peaceful coexistence."
