Hyderabad:The Indian Air Force on Tuesday commemorated the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' with a 75-aircraft Elephant Walk event. The event was held to celebrate the 75 years of India's Independence.
The IAF conducted an 'Elephant Walk' with 'Gusts of Rafales,' 'Prowl of Jaguars'.
An elephant walk is a term used by the United States Air Force for the taxiing of military aircraft right before takeoff when they are in close formation. Generally, it takes place right before a minimum interval takeoff. The advantages of an elephant walk include the ability to demonstrate the capability of the units as well as teamwork. It is frequently used to train squadrons for wartime operations and pilots for the mass launch of fully armed aircraft.
