Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Home Minister Narottam Mishra has warned e-commerce giant Amazon to cooperate with a probe or face action in a case related to interstate online ganja trading.

Bhind Police on Sunday busted 384 tonnes of ganja supply and have found that the e-commerce giant employees are likely to be part of the drug peddling. The minister on Thursday alleged that Amazon is not cooperating with the police and it was proven that 84 tonnes of ganga was moved viz Amazon.

In the last 7 months, 768 kg of marijuana has been supplied in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh through 384 orders. For this, the money was paid through only one UPI ID, ANI reports.

The minister added, "If ganga is being delivered online, weapons would also be traded." Mishra also said as of now the state has no strict laws to control this and it would frame a policy regarding online trading.

The drug peddling network came into light after Bhind Police arrested two men in Madhya Pradesh with 20 kg of marijuana from their houses on November 13. The arrested drug peddlers Suraj and Vijan Singh from Gohad Dhaba were found using Amazon's India shopping website to order and smuggle the substance further to various states.

During interrogation police have found that these consignments were delivered through Amazon from a company registered in Gujarat via Andhra Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh and other places.
