Successor of Mahant Narendra Giri to be announced today

After the death of Mahant Narendra Giri, a meeting of seers Thursday will choose his successor. In the meeting, the seers will present their suggestions for the selection of the successor. According to the will of Mahant Narendra Giri, Balvir Giri is expected to be named as his successor.

Haridwar (Uttarakhand): Following a meeting of all seers of the Niranjani Akhara here Thursday, the successor of Mahant Narendra Giri of Baghambari Math in Prayagraj is expected to be formally announced.

This is the first meeting at the Niranjani Akhara in Haridwar after the death of Mahant Narendra Giri. Secretary of Niranjani Akhara, Ravindra Puri said that that the leadership of the Akhara together have decided that a meeting of all the seers should be convened Thursday to choose the successor of Mahant Narendra Giri.

In the meeting, all the seers will present their suggestions and decide who will be the successor of Mahant Narendra Giri. Niranjani Akhara secretary Puri, at the same time, said that it has been agreed to declare Balvir Giri as the successor, but its formal announcement will be made after the meeting. In the discussion between the leadership of the Niranjani Akhara, it was decided that according to the will of Mahant Narendra Giri, Balvir Giri will be made the successor at Baghambari Math

It may be mentioned that the body of Mahant Narendra Giri was found hanging from a noose in his room at the Baghambari Math in Prayagraj September 20. An alleged suicide note was also recovered from the room in which Mahant Narendra Giri accused his disciple Anand Giri of mentally harassing him.
