Azamgarh: Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya has written a letter to the District Magistrate regarding the illegal properties of gangster-turned-lawmaker Mukhtar Ansari. In this regard, a request has been made to the District Magistrate to mark Mukhtar's land worth Rs 3 crore in Lucknow. This letter has been written by the Superintendent of Police after marking the properties of tainted politician in Lucknow.
Talking to ETV Bharat, Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya said, "Gangster Mukhtar Ansari has acquired illegal properties worth crores of rupees for meagre sums . One such property worth Rs 3 crore has been discovered in Lucknow. I have sent a letter to DM Azamgarh to confiscate the property marked in Lucknow,"
"Already a case has been registered against Mukhtar Ansari at Tarwan police station in Azamgarh district, the investigator is the SWAT team in-charge Prashant Srivastava. Mukhtar's movable and immovable property was being marked under the Uttar Pradesh Gangbang and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986," SP added.
The Lucknow property was marked under the name of Mukhtar's wife at Hussainganj, 21 Assembly Road in Lucknow. According to the SWAT team in-charge Prashant Srivastava, the value of the property is Rs 3 crore. This property was taken by Mukhtar in 2007 for Rs 5 lakh from a businessman.
