Hyderabad:Delivering a response to the baseless charges of your opponent is one thing, but decimating the charges with a sharp end is another. Sneha Dubey, India's first secretary at the United Nations did that and more when she took India's 'Right of Reply' to the charges leveled by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.

India's first secretary at the United Nations Sneha Dubey's Spartan speech made her social media's new darling.

Dubey's brilliant diction and delivery of words were picked carefully and spoken with the right punch is something to be watched and listened to carefully. As they say, the right word at the right time is like precious gold set in silver.

Small wonder, hours after her UNGA speech, Dubey became the toast of social media. It's not every day one gets to listen to the otherwise mundane speech at the UN or other world bodies. India bowled out Imran Khan's references to Kashmir with irrefutable facts.

Who's Sneha Dubey?

Shortly after her Spartan speech was posted on social media handles, Indians hailed her, marveling at the age at which she was given this immense responsibility and the way she executed it.

A 2012 batch IFS officer, Sneha completed her schooling from Goa, and went for higher education in Pune’s Fergusson College, and finally did her MPhil from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

When she was merely 12 years old, Sneha wanted to join the Indian Foreign Services. She passed the civil services examination in her very first attempt in the year 2011.

Sneha is the first in her family to join the government services. Her father works in a multinational company and her mother is a school teacher.

After being selected for the IFS, Sneha Dubey’s first appointment was in the Ministry of External Affairs. Two years later, she was sent to the Indian Embassy in Madrid. She is currently India’s first secretary at the United Nations.

Twitter users were full of praise after Dubey’s UN video surfaced. One user said, “What a way to shut the mouths of the jokers in Pakistan… every word was so carefully chosen… full of facts… brilliant.”

Some Twitter users were also quick to compare Dubey to India’s prior women officers — Eenam Gambhir, Vidisha Maitra — who have countered Pakistan at the United Nations.
