Punjab lawmaker Sidhu meets Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi

Punjab MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday met Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi at her residence in Delhi. The meeting comes against a backdrop of infighting in the party in Punjab state.

New Delhi:The Congress Party's Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and disgruntled colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu held talks in Delhi. The meeting took place at the residence of Ms Gandhi, reports said.

Shortly after the meeting, Sidhu shared a picture with Gandhi on Twitter and said, 'had a long meeting with Priyanka Gandhi Ji.'

This comes a day after Rahul Gandhi dismissed reports that he would meet Sidhu in Delhi. He told reporters on Tuesday 'there is no meeting. I don't know what fuss you are making."

Just before Sidhu's visit to Delhi, his office said he will meet both the Gandhis. Rahul Gandhi has been meeting various leaders of Punjab in the past few days to resolve the infighting in the Congress Party in the state.

Sidhu has been critical of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh's leadership for a very long time. Earlier, he met a panel that was set up to resolve his dispute with the chief minister.
