Shilpa Shetty filed defamation suit against 29 media personnel alleging 'false reporting'

Embattled actor Shilpa Shetty has filed a defamation suit in Bombay High Court against 29 media personnel and media houses for 'doing false reporting and maligning her image' in a pornography case in which her husband Raj Kundra is accused. It is learnt that hearing of the case scheduled for tomorrow.

It is learnt that hearing of the case is scheduled for tomorrow.

Businessman Raj Kundra, husband of Shilpa Shetty, was recently arrested by the city police's crime branch in connection with the pornography case. Mumbai's Esplanade Court on Wednesday had rejected the bail pleas of Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe in the case. Kundra was arrested on July 19 by the city police's crime branch after being booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. On Tuesday, a magistrate's court remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days.

Mumbai Crime Branch on Tuesday said that actor Shilpa Shetty has not yet been given a clean chit in the pornography racket case where her husband and businessman Raj Kundra is the prime accused. According to officials, forensic auditors have been appointed to investigate the transactions in all the accounts of the people involved in the case.
