AP state election office unveils e-watch app

The e-watch app allows voters to directly send their grievances to the State Election Commission. The app was launched by the State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar in Vijayawada.

Vijaywada (Andhra Pradesh):SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar launched an e-watch app. The event was held at the SEC office in Vijayawada. SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar said that "with this app, we are giving you the opportunity to complain directly to SEC." He explained that the app was designed to receive complaints about election irregularities and temptations.

Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar said that technology is used only for transparency in the system. It was clarified that there is no mistrust on the rest of the apps. The app was developed in collaboration with Reliance Jio. The SEC assured every complaint received will be strictly resolved and action taken on the issue will be informed to the complainant.

Nimmagadda said he would visit the field level and give hints and advice to the staff. He said that the Collectors, SP's were responsible for serious complaints. He said that if the solution fails, the elections will be halted. He expressed confidence that technology will be used to prevent irregularities in the elections. SEC said that every complainant will be given number and with that number, they will know about the situation of the complaint.
