SC to hear former Karnataka minister Vinay Kulkarni bail petition on Wednesday

The Supreme Court bench will continue to hear the former Karnataka minister and Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni's bail petition in BJP worker Yogeshgouda Goudar murder case. When the court heard the case on Tuesday, CBI informed the court that police were bribed in the case and witnesses were tutored.

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed the Supreme Court that police were bribed with Rs 2 lakh in the Yogeshgouda Goudar murder case and the witnesses were taken to a hotel and tutored by the advocates. CBI said that ex-minister and Congress leader Vinay Kulkarni has taken part in every step.

The bench comprising of Justice UU Lalit and Justice Ajay Rastogi was hearing Congress leader and former Karnataka minister Vinay Kulkarni's bail petition in the murder case of BJP worker Yogeshgouda Goudar. Goudar was killed on June 15, 2016, after he defeated congress rival in Zilla panchayat.

Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi appearing for Kulkarni argued before the court on Tuesday saying that there are four different stories in the matter and Kulkarni has been named due to political vendetta and he had no role in the murder. CBI submitted before the court that it is a case where witnesses and police have been tampered with and assailants have been given refuge.

The matter will be heard again tomorrow as the court could not complete the hearing today.
