New Delhi:The Supreme Court today refused to entertain a petition seeking directions to the centre to assess the feasibility of confiscating 100% black money and awarding life imprisonment in the offences like bribery.
The bench comprising of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice Hrishikesh was hearing a plea filed by BJP member and Advocate Ashwini Upadhyay. Upadhyay had also sought handing over 1993 Vohra Committee report on Criminalisation of Politics to the central agencies like NIA, CBI, ED and SFIO.
Justice Kaul said that they can not issue a mandamus to the Parliament and the petitioner can not expect the judiciary to take over all the roles.
