New Delhi: The Supreme Court today allowed the foreigners accused of congregating in a Tablighi Jamaat incident in Nizamuddin, Delhi, to return to their home countries provided that they give an undertaking of the bond before the concerned court and the nodal officer is satisfied.
A bench comprising of Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Krishna Murari was hearing a petition filed by a group of Tablighis against their black listing by the Home Ministry, confiscation of their visas and detention here in India.
Earlier the court had asked to appoint a nodal officer who would have to facilitate the return of the Tablighis provided that the specified conditions are fulfilled. Some Tablighis had done petition bargain and some had chosen to fight their cases after which they could go back.
