New Delhi:The Supreme Court today allowed the Andhra Pradesh government to withdraw its appeal against the Andhra Pradesh High Court order imposing stay on the probe into the Amaravati Land scam. In the last hearing, it was discussed as one of the options and today the state's counsel sought withdrawal of the case and said that it wants to pursue it in the HC.
"We are now wiser and we will file counter before the High Court now," said Advocate Mahfooz Nazki. The SC bench comprising of Justice Vineet Saran and Justice Dinesh Maheshwari heard the case.
The HC had stayed the Special Investigation Team probe into Amaravati land scam wherein daughters of a sitting SC judge and former Advocate General are beneficiaries. The state had moved against this order and had argued that the case is an outcome of "regime revenge".
