Bhopal (MP): The monsoon session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly has been adjourned sine die following ruckus by Congress MLAs in the house. A massive uproar broke out in the house after Congress legislators had demanded the implementation OBC quota. Meanwhile, as soon as the session was adjourned, Congress MLA Babu Jandel (बाबू जंडेल) tore his kurta (कपड़े फाड़े) in the assembly premises, protesting against the alleged lack of help from the administration over the flood situation in his constituency of Sheopur(श्योपुर). The MLA said that he tore his clothes against the alleged apathy of the BJP government towards the problems faced by the people of his constituency. Jandel alleged that people were not provided any help from the state government following the floods, adding how he could wear clothes when his people did not have clothes to wear.
The MLA further said that the floods in Gwalior Chambal region has badly affected the lives of the people there and though the Congress has been trying to raise the issue in the state legislature, the government has been reluctant to take up the topic. For this reason the house was adjourned, MLA Jandel added.

Despite IMD warning, state government failed to make necessary arrangements
"I want to ask the government, what did the government do for the flood victims? The poor were given 50 kg of wheat and in that there has been a plethora of inconsistencies," said Babu Jandel. The MLA alleged that despite a warning from the Indian Meteorological Department, necessary arrangements were not made and the negligence of the government and administration has come to the fore.
