New Delhi:Keeping an eye on Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) is all set to roll out a full-fledged election campaign. The party would kickstart its poll campaign from the farmers' protest site in Ghazipur.

RLD president Jayant Chaudhary on Thursday said that the party has resolved to start its campaign by first visiting the farmers' protest site in Ghazipur on August 7. Speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat, Chaudhary said, "We have constituted Lok Sankalp Samiti which has members with years of political experience and experts from different fields of the society. We have decided to reach out to the people of Uttar Pradesh with our revolutionary thinking, discuss with them about their issues and work according to their suggestions. In this line, we will be visiting the Ghazipur farmers protest site on August 7." Chaudary was speaking after attending the meeting with members of Lok Sankalp Samiti

He said that the three contentious farm laws will definitely dent the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prospects in the upcoming UP assembly elections. Farmers constitute the majority and so it will definitely affect them in every stage of the election. Chaudhary further said that we want the leaders to stop politicizing religion, rather they should talk on health, unemployment, development and farming issues. "We have seen the situation of our country during the peak of coronavirus pandemic. We want the people to be aware of such issues." When asked about the alliance with Samajwadi Party, Jayant Chaudhary said we are all together, we are working together and currently we are talking on the real issues and not on seat sharing. It will be done in the future, he said.
