Bengaluru:The Karnataka government has issued notices to Jubilant Generic and Cipla as they failed to deliver Remdesivir vials as sought by the Centre.
They have been given 24-hours time to supply the remaining vials failing which they will be booked under the Disaster Management Act.

On May 1, the Central government had directed Jubilant Generic to supply 32,000 Remdesivir vials to Karnataka. However, as of May 8, the company had supplied only 17,601 vials. Likewise, while Cipla was directed to supply 30,000 vials, the company could dispatch only 10,840 vials.
Officials from the revenue department on Wednesday issued notices to Jubilant Generic located in Kumbalgodu and Cipla in Peenya.
Remdesivir is a crucial drug in treating COVID-19 patients.
