Ramoji Film City bags two excellence awards in tourism

Ramoji Film City has bagged the Telangana State Tourism Award in the 'Best Civic Management of a Tourist Destination' category. The award ceremony was held at the Plaza Hotel in Begumpet in the city on Monday on the occasion of World Tourism Day.

Hyderabad (Telangana): Ramoji Film City has bagged two excellence awards in Tourism. Telangana State Tourism Award in the 'Best Civic Management of a Tourist Destination' category and Hotel Sitara of Dolphin Group having won the award in the Four Star Hotel (2020) category.

These awards were received from Minister for Tourism, Sports and Excise V Srinivas Goud at Plaza Hotel in Begumpet in the city. Minister presented the awards in various categories on the occasion of World Tourism Day on September 27. Ramoji Group companies have won two Excellence Awards.

In the best green hotels category, Taramati Baradari won the first prize, Harita Hotel on the premises of Ramappa temple in Mulugu district of Telangana and Harita Lake View Resort at Alisagar in Nizamabad district won the second and third prizes respectively.

Tourism Minister Srinivas Goud has said that there are up to 20 historical sites in Telangana that can be included in the world tourism map. During the World Tourism day celebrations, the Minister proudly announced that the state of Telangana has more beautiful places than any other in the country. The World Tourism Day celebrations were held at Plaza Hotel in Begumpet, Hyderabad. On this occasion, the Telangana Tourism Department Two Excellence Awards were presented to Ramoji Group.

The Telangana state government organized the World Tourism celebrations in a grand manner at The Plaza Hotel in Begumpet. It was attended by a large number of award recipients, travel agents and hotel management representatives. On the occasion Minister Srinivas Goud and Tourism Development Corporation Uppala Srinivas jointly released a CD of videos specially designed to highlight the various historical sites in the state.

The Excellence Awards were also presented to various organizations that are making special efforts for the development of the tourism sector in the state. These awards were virtually announced last year during the covid pandemic and were presented to the recipients this year.

The Tourism Minister further said that there are so many historical places in the state of Telangana and that since the formation of the state, they have been developing the historical sites with special focus. The minister also said that the number of foreign tourists coming to Telangana has witnessed an increase since the formation of the state. Other historical sites in the state like the Warangal Ramappa Temple was also a major tourist attraction, the minister added, saying that special concessions were to be given to companies that attract more tourists.

The Ramoji Group of Companies won two tourism excellence awards at a ceremony held at The Plaza Hotel under the auspices of Telangana Tourism. Company representatives received two Excellence Awards for the years 2020 and 2021. Nominated for the Ramoji Film City Excellence Award in the Best Civic Management of Tourism Destination-2021 category. And also Sitara Hotel bagged another Excellence Award in the 4 Star Excellent Hotel category.

Representatives of Ramoji Film City said that they were delighted with these awards which were presented as part of the World Tourism celebrations. Ramoji Film City Vice President K Venkataratnam said thatRamoji Film City will be available for tourists from October 8, 2021,with covid security standards.

Dolphin Hotels General Manager TRL Rao said the Sitara Hotel was honoured for providing world-class dining and guest hosting facilities. Recipients were elated at the awards presented by the Telangana government in recognition of their services.
