New Delhi: The Delhi Medical Association (DMA) has moved to the Supreme Court against Baba Ramdev seeking clubbing of FIRs registered against him for statements made against the allopathy doctors treating Covid 19. The DMA contended before the court that Ramdev started false propaganda against Covid-19 vaccines and the treatment protocol approved by the central government itself, with the mala fide intent to promote the sale of products namely Coronil, Swasari Vati and Anu Tanila manufactured by his company Patanjali.

It also alleged that the misinformation spread by Ramdev helped him in making revenue of more than Rs 1,000 crores through the sale of Coronil. Ramdev had appeared on several platforms and made statements against the treatment and vaccine prescribed by ICMR, AIIMS and Health Ministry. He had called doctors as agents of pharmaceutical companies and drug mafia who are killing people.

"The said doctors have worked every day for approximately 18 hours a day for the past 15 months without a break to not only ensure that the best treatment is provided to the patients suffering from Covid 19 but also prevent emergency situations arising due to covid 19 leading to shortage beds, non-availability of medicines and oxygen etc," contended the DMA. Earlier the CJI-led bench had issued a notice in the matter and is likely to take up the matter next week for hearing.
