New Delhi:Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day after opposition parties created ruckus over their demand for a discussion on Pegasus spyware, and farmers' agitation against farm reform laws, among other issues. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was passed amid the continuous din through voice vote.
In Rajya Sabha, Opposition MPs belonging to the Congress, TMC, DMK and the Left parties stormed into the well of the House and raised slogans. The slogan 'Khela Hobe' was also raised. Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said the entire country was getting "agonised" by frequent disruptions, before adjourning the proceedings earlier till 12 noon.
Earlier today, Communist Party of India (CPI) MP Binoy Viswam had given a suspension of business notice in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday under rule 267 to discuss the 'Pegasus Project' media report. The Inland Vessels Bill was passed amid the continuous din last day. The Upper House adjourned four times yesterday.
