Jaipur:All the ministers of the Ashok Gehlot cabinet resigned ahead of the upcoming cabinet reshuffle in the Rajasthan government. The development took place during a meeting at the Chief Minister's residence on Saturday. State in-charge Ajay Maken was also present at the meeting.
Speaking to reporters former transport minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said, "All ministers resigned in the meeting,"
"We have been asked to go to the PCC office at 2 pm on Sunday where further instructions will be given by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, AICC general secretary Ajay Maken and PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra," Khachariyawas said.
The challenge facing Rajasthan Congress is that the resignation of Education Minister Govind Dotasara, Health minister Raghu Sharma and Revenue Minister Harish Chaudhary, there are 16 districts in the state where there is no representation in the cabinet.
According to sources, the swearing-in ceremony of the new ministers will be held at 4 pm on Sunday at Raj Bhavan. Preparations have started in Raj Bhavan for the swearing-in. Although it has not yet been decided which new faces will be included in the cabinet, the process of reaching a large number of Congress MLAs in the capital Jaipur is going on since Friday evening.
The preparations for the Rajasthan cabinet reorganization are in full swing.
According to the sources, the cabinet will be reconstituted on Sunday at 4:00 pm. Preparations have been intensified from Raj Bhavan to Secretariat. The work of setting up tents in Raj Bhavan is going on, while rooms are being searched for new ministers in the Secretariat. New vehicles are also being arranged in the motor garage. All these preparations are clearly indicating that the time has come for cabinet reorganization in the midst of the long-running political upheaval.
Three ministers who left the cabinet reorganization are Minister of State for Education Govind Singh Dotasra, Revenue Minister Harish Choudhary and Medical Minister Raghu Sharma have submitted their resignations. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has accepted the resignation of these three ministers. The ministers have deposited their vehicles at the designated motor garage of the cabinet. It is believed that in the meeting of the Council of Ministers this evening, Gehlot can take more resignations from the ministers.
Recently, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had given instructions to the General Administration Department to prepare the report of all the ministers in charge. Department had prepared report cards of the ministers in charge in which it would be checked as to which minister has visited his district and how many times. It is believed that on the basis of this report, many ministers can be discharged, whose report is ready with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
