Kulgam (Jammu & Kashmir): A bank employee from Rajasthan was shot dead by some terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Thursday, adding one more to the string of attacks on foreigners in the valley. The victim, identified as Vijay Kumar, reportedly worked at the district's Elaquai Dehati Bank, confirmed the police officials.

He was attacked in the morning while he was entering the bank branch, said police sources. He was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital after the attack but succumbed to his injuries while on the way. "He was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival," the officials said. An investigation in the matter is underway, they added.
The event has triggered protests at multiple places in Jammu. Protesters could be seen marching towards Gujar Nagra area, with huge deployment in the sensitive areas in Jammu to prevent law and order problems.
This is the second such case registered in the last week with civilians on terrorist targets. A female school teacher, Rajni Bala was also shot dead in the same manner after being ambushed by militants in the Samba area. After her death, her husband claimed that the family is requesting a transfer. Speaking to reporters, her husband had said, “Had the administration transferred her to a safer place earlier, she might have been alive by now. I curse my destiny. Just a day after her transfer, she was killed by terrorists."
Earlier today, three security personnel were injured in a bomb in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian, authorities said, adding that the incident occurred in a leased private car.
