New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, on Monday, accused the Central Government of not letting the Parliament function properly alleging that it is not allowing the Opposition to hold debates on the matters like Lakhimpur Kheri incident, suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs and even on the statehood issue of Ladakh.
While speaking to the media, Rahul Gandhi said, " We just want that the Government sack its Minister (Ajay Mishra Teni) and hold a discussion on the Lakhimpur Kheri matter."
The Opposition has also decided to hold a protest march from Gandhi Statue at Parliament to Vijay Chowk, on Tuesday, to demand the resignation of Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni, in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri case. Apart from this, Rahul Gandhi moved an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha to discuss the issue of statehood and inclusion of Ladakh in Schedule VI of the Constitution.
Gandhi said, "I wanted to raise the Ladakh issue and the struggle my brothers and sisters going through asking for their rights, their statehood. I want to reiterate and tell the people of Ladakh that they will get what belongs to them."
