Slamming the government over rising unemployment, the Congress MP said, "Modi government is not concerned about small industrialists, youth and common people. Their partnership is only with two or three industrialists. Their goal is to suppress the voice of the youth of India. It is known that the day youth of India will start speaking the truth, the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be exposed."

He further added, "Narendra Modi government has destroyed the unorganized sector. Till Modi government is in power, the youth of this nation would not get employment. Modi's partnership with industrialists is attacking the future of our youth."

IYC had organized a "Sansad Gherao" as a mark of protest against the Central government over Pegasus and farm laws. Hundreds of Youth Congress workers had come from all across the country to participate in this protest near Parliament. Apart from Rahul Gandhi, other senior leaders of Congress including Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal, Shaktisinh Gohil and Digvijay Singh also took a part in this protest.

Speaking on this occasion, IYC President Srinivas BV said, "At least 89 hours of Monsoon Session of Parliament having been wasted. The general public has to bear the loss of all this. Opposition wants to discuss the issues related to public concerns, but the government is obstructing the parliament proceedings by following its agenda so as to avoid accountability."

Delhi Police also used water cannons to disperse the crowd as Youth Congress workers tried to cross the barricades to reach Parliament. Many of these workers also got detained.
