Bhopal: BJP leaders continued their attacks on Rahul Gandhi for his comments Wednesday on the saffron party and the RSS with Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra describing the Congress leader as an “ichchadhari Hindu” (a Hindu according to his convenience).
"Rahul Gandhi is an 'ichchadhari Hindu',” Mishra said. “He conveniently puts on cap and tika, goes on religious tours and after going on religious tours he talks like this."
Meanwhile, BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma lodged a complaint with the police against Rahul Gandhi for insulting Hindu deities and and making statements that disturb communal harmony. Sharma, along with his supporters, went to the Arera Hills police station to file the complaint.
"Thank god that RSS was born in 1925 at the right time,” the BJP MLA said while filing the complaint. “If there was no RSS, Congress would have been running around killing Hindus.”
In his complaint, he stated: “ Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has insulted the centre of faith of Hindus by pronouncing the names of Maa Durga and Maa Lakshmi in a disrespectful manner at a programme organised in Delhi September 15. Even before this, Rahul Gandhi had made objectionable remarks against Hindu deities and those who believe in them in Jammu and Kashmir and other places. These words of Rahul Gandhi are creating enmity against the religious community and disturbing harmony.”
