Uttarakhand: BJP projects Pushkar Singh Dhami as CM choice for 2022 Assembly

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and BJP’s in-charge for the Uttarakhand Assembly polls on Friday said that CM Pushkar Singh Dhami will continue as the CM of the state if the party comes to power in the upcoming assembly elections 2022.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand):Union MinisterPrahlad Joshi, who is on a two-day visit to the state, on Friday said that CM Pushkar Singh Dhami will continue to be the the CM if the party comes to power in the upcoming assembly elections 2022.

"If the party emerges victorious in the 2022 assembly elections, then Pushkar Singh Dhami will continue as the chief minister. No one has any doubts in this matter," Joshi said, adding that the BJP would win the upcoming elections.

In the last 5 years, BJP had changed three chief ministers in the state. Trivendra Singh Rawat, who had served as the CM for 4 years, was replaced by Garhwal MP Tirath Singh Rawat. However, the party high command later appointed Pushkar Singh Dhami as the chief minister of the state in nearly four months.

Reacting to the statement made by the Uttarakhand BJP in-charge of Uttarakhand Assembly polls, Dhami said that the party has given him responsibility, and he will fulfil it with complete devotion and honesty. The CM further added saying that, he will stick to his responsibility like a neutral soldier of the party.

The 45-year-old is a two-time MLA from the Khatima constituency in the Udham Singh Nagar district and had worked in different positions in ABVP for almost a decade and was active in student politics.

He has also served as the president of the BJP youth wing in Uttarakhand. Dhami has never held any ministerial position in the past.
