New Delhi: At a time when the Punjab Congress standing on shaky ground due to infighting among its members, a number of contractual employees from the state reached the All India Congress Committee Headquarters, here in Delhi, to hold a protest against the Punjab Government demanding regularisation of workers.
The group claimed that the Congress party had made promises in its 2017 Assembly Elections manifesto to regularize the contractual workers in the state if the party came to power, but even after the completion of 4.5 years of this government, the promise hasn't been fulfilled.
"Now the next Assembly Elections are also coming, new promises will be made by the party but how can we trust them when the previous promises are still not fulfilled?" said Harpreet Singh, one of the protestors.
