Priyanka Gandhi chairs election committee meeting in Lucknow

Senior members, youth, women and office bearers of election committee participate in the meeting

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday chaired a state election committee meeting at UP Congress Committee office in Lucknow.

Her tweet about the meeting read, "State Election Committee meeting in UP Congress Committee office. This time there was a very fruitful discussion due to the participation of senior members, youth, women and office bearers of the organisation in the election committee. With the mantra of everyone's participation, everyone's responsibility, Congress has made a strong knock for the elections."

Priyanka arrived in Lucknow on Thursday for a three-day tour to review the party’s preparedness for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.

The Uttar Pradesh Congress had launched a mass contact programme on August 19 to cover the state's 30,000 villages and wards where party leaders were directed to stay for over three days during the drive.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also visit Rae Bareily on Sunday, which is the Lok Sabha constituency of her mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
