UP Police to probe Qamar's links with Pak terror module; family denies allegation

Prayagraj (UP): One of the six suspects in Delhi terror module, Zeeshan Qamar (28) who was arrested in Prayagraj from Kareli police station area, had allegedly undergone training in Pakistan, according to the Delhi Police Special Cell.

As per reports, Zeeshan from Allahabad and his associates had hatched a conspiracy to carry out attacks in different parts of the country. Besides targeting religious events like Navratri and Dussehra, many big leaders, including the prime minister, were on their target, sources stated.

The Delhi Police Special Cell on Tuesday had arrested six people, including two Pakistan-trained terrorists during a multi-state operation.

The arrested youth has been accused of conspiring to terrorise the country by collaborating with ISI. The ATS also recovered an Improvised Explosive Device from Naini area, which was defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad.

Currently, police and the ATS are investigating for additional details related to the arrested youth's links with Pakistan and Isis. Three other persons were also arrested in the raids and they are being interrogated.

Family, neighbour deny allegation

Zeeshan, a resident of GTB Nagar, ​​Prayagraj, had completed his MBA from Agriculture University, Naini. After which he went to Saudi Arabia to work as an accountant in a private company. Last year after the lockdown, he returned back to Prayagraj. Since then, Zeeshan started doing the work of supplying dates in Prayagraj and in surrounding areas. Zeeshan got married about two years ago and lived with his wife, father and sisters.

However, family members and neighbours are denying the allegations being made against Zeeshan, adding that he's being falsely implicated. His father Kamaruzzama has termed Zeeshan's arrest by the ATS as a conspiracy and that his son has no relation with any terrorist organisation. Even Zeeshan's neighbour advocate isn't ready to accept that Zeeshan can have any relation with any terrorist organisation.

Meanwhile, Delhi's Patiala House Court has sent four suspects - Jan Mohammed Shaikh, Osama, Moolchand, and Mohd. Abu Bakar to 14-day police custody after they were presented in the court this morning. Two others accused, Zeeshan Qamar and Amir Javed, will be produced in court in the afternoon.
