New Delhi: In a surprising move, poll strategist Prashant Kishor, on Thursday, resigned from the post of Principal Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, citing "temporary break from active role in public life" as the reason behind his decision. The development assumes significance given the fact that the 2022 Punjab Assembly polls in the state are just a few months away. In his letter to the Punjab CM, he also mentioned that he is yet to decide upon his future course of action.
"As you are aware, in view of my decision to take a temporary break from the active role in public life. I have not been able to take over the responsibilities as your principal advisor," he stated in his letter. Kishor further added, "Since I am yet to decide on my future course of action, I write to request you to kindly relieve me from this responsibility. I take this opportunity to thank you for considering me for this position."
