Police launch investigation after JK woman sustains bullet injury

A woman in Jammu and Kashmir received bullet injuries in Tral area, prompting the police authorities to launch an investigation. Cops also searched the victim's residence and recovered the bullet.

Tral: Jammu and Kashmir police said it has launched an investigation after a woman sustained bullet injuries during night hours in Darganie Gund area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The victim, identified as Shakeela Banu(36), sustained a bullet injury at night. Her husband and in-laws concealed the incident and shifted her to a nearby hospital in Aripal area from where she was referred to Sub District Hospital in Tral but even then they didn’t disclose to doctors regarding bullet injuries.

Doctors at Tral hospital were told by the family members that she is suffering from abdominal pain and heart ailments. She was later referred to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital in Srinagar.

After police received the information, a team of officials from Aripal reached the victim's house and recovered the bullet after a search operation.
