Veraval (Gujarat): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects worth Rs 83 crore at the historic Somnath Temple in Gujarat on Friday. Several dignitaries including state Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will preside over the event being held in Somnath. The project also involves Jyotirlinga Somnath temple and the Parvati Mataji temple which are to be built. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also take part in the event.
Prime Minister Modi is the chairman of the Shree Somnath Trust which manages the affairs of the world-famous temple located in Prabhas Patan town in the Gir-Somnath district.
Shree Somnath Trust (SST) trustee-cum-secretary PK Laheri said, "PM Modi will inaugurate three projects and also perform a virtual ground-breaking ceremony for the Parvati Temple coming up near the main temple for ₹30 crore." He said the event will be organized in the Ram Mandir auditorium of the temple on Friday.
