Varanasi (UP): Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing a mega rally in Varanasi ahead of the last phase of the Assembly elections, on Saturday, exuded confidence in the BJP forming a government in Uttar Pradesh. He slammed the opposition for "trying to look for their political interests" even in a crisis situation like the one in Ukraine right now. Voting for the seventh and final round will be held on March 7 for Varanasi and its eight adjoining districts.
"People of Uttar Pradesh don't want 'Parivaarwadis'. BJP will form government in UP," PM Modi said. "When some challenges crop up before the nation, these dynasts look for their political interest in it. If India's security forces and people fight a crisis, they do everything to make the situation more critical. We saw this during the pandemic and today during the Ukraine crisis. Blind and continuous opposition, acute frustration and negativity have become their political ideology. For the past two years, free ration is being made available to over 80 crore poor, Dalits, backward, tribals and the entire world is amazed by it. But I am happy that the poor are happy," Modi added.
He claimed that "ghor parivaarwadis" are agitated by the Union government's 'Vocal for Local' campaign. "Yoga, Ayurveda have gained a lot of prominence in the whole world today, but theseghor parivaarwadis(dynasts) avoid taking the name of Yoga. Congress forgot about the Khadi which was once the party's identity," he said.
