JK Police detain PDP president Mehbooba Mufti

A police bunker has also been set up at the main gate of Mehbooba Mufti's residence at Gopkar and local police personnel have been deployed.

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday detained PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti at her Gupkar residence this morning.

Sources told ETV Bharat that Mehbooba Mufti was on her way to visit the family of slain youth Athar Mushtaq Wani in Bellaw Village, Southern District, Pulwama.

A police bunker has also been set up at the main gate of Mehbooba Mufti's residence and local police personnel have been deployed.

It may be recalled that three youths from Pulwama and Shopian in south Kashmir were killed by the army in an alleged encounter in Lawaypura on the outskirts of Srinagar in December last year.

However, the encounter became controversial when slain youth's family said their sons were innocent and had been killed in a fake encounter.
