MPs Suspension: Rajya Sabha adjourned till Wednesday as opposition parties stick to their demand

Rajya Sabha has been adjourned on Tuesday till Wednesday 11 am amid sloganeering raised by the Opposition. Throughout the day the opposition members persisted with their demand of revoking the suspension of 12 MPs causing repeated adjournments.

New Delhi: Rajya Sabha has been adjourned on Tuesday till Wednesday 11am amid sloganeering raised by the opposition parties. Throughout the day the opposition members persisted with their demand of revoking the suspension of 12 MPs, causing repeated adjournments. They also raised the issue of the suspended MPs being asked to tender apologies.

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh announced adjournment till tomorrow soon after the proceedings of the House resumed at 3pm. Despite the repeated appeal by the deputy chairman, the opposition MPs continued raising slogans.

The 12 MPs were suspended on November 29 for the remaining winter session for alleged misconduct during the last monsoon session of the Parliament.

Earlier in the day, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said that the suspension of the 12 MPs can be revoked if they apologise for their conduct in the House.
