Mumbai: The Crime Branch has launched an investigation into the extortion case against former Mumbai Commissioner of Police Parambir Singh. This has revealed an underworld connection. In the same case, Mumbai Police has registered a case of ransom against Anwar, brother of notorious goon Chhota Shakeel.
Anwar and two others have been booked in the ransom case. The SIT investigating the Parambir Singh case found an audio clip. Sources said that in this audio clip, Chhota Shakeel, the right hand man of Dawood Ibrahim, is heard threatening a builder. In this connection, the crime branch filed a case against Anwar. The case now appears to be linked to the Parambir Singh case.
