Panipat (Haryana): The Haryana Police are yet to nab the accused in connection with the robbery, gangrape and murder of women in Asan Kalan village. Over 100 personnel of Panipat Police are engaged in solving this case. The police have so far not found any clue that could lead them to the accused. Senior police officers and personnel are examining the CCTV footage around the crime scene, but still not have been able to apprehend the accused.
Sources said that the Panipat police have detained several people in connection with the gruesome case and they are being interrogated. Panipat Superintendent of Police Ajit Shekhawat said that soon the cops will arrest the accused and share all the details of the horrific crime.
The four robbers entered a camp built in the fields and took three couples and five children hostage. At first, all the people who were sleeping were severely beaten by the robbers. Then tied the three men with a rope. After this, three women were taken to another room and gang-raped. After this, the robbers absconded with Rs 13000 in cash and jewellery. It is being told that the robbers came on the same bike.
In another incident, the four armed robbers entered a farm on the road leading to a refinery from Asan Kalan at around 11 PM on Wednesday with the intention of stealing. They held the husband and wife hostage and looted their belongings. They assaulted the couple after looting Rs 5,000 cash and some golden jewellery. The woman was already ill and her condition worsened after she was assaulted, following which she died. The robbers tied her husband with a rope and escaped from the spot.
