New Delhi: Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution has informed that over 5 lakh people have downloaded the Mera Ration App since its launch on 12 March 2021.
The Mera Ration app is specially designed for migrant labourers who have to keep moving in search of a job and ideally need a ration card that should work across the nation.

The APP is currently available in both Hindi and English language and it is expected that the app will also be available in 14 different languages in the upcoming days.
Mera Ration app launched by the ministry of consumer affairs, food and public distribution is a part of the government’s One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) system.
The app currently covers 32 states and union territories are specialy beneficial for the migrant people. The users can also check what they are entitled to, locate nearby ration shops etc.
So far 32 states and Union Territories of India have actively implemented the One Nation One Ration Card scheme. The scheme is still not implemented in West Bengal, Assam, Delhi and Chattisgarh to date. Most likely the remaining states will complete the process by the year-end and will join the central government's One Nation One Ration Card scheme.

The app can be downloaded from the Google Play store with a registered mobile number and once it’s downloaded users need to register using their ration card details.
