Jharkhand: Dacoit dead, two accomplices nabbed as police foil daylight heist in Dhanbad

Dhanbad: In a scene looking straight out of a movie, police in Jharkhand's Dhanbad Tuesday foiled a daylight heist by killing a dacoit and arresting two of his accomplices when they were trying to loot a branch office of Muthoot finance company on Matkuria road.

At around 9:30 am when the Muthoot branch opened for customers, five dacoits armed with pistols entered the office and started beating staff members. One of the dacoits fired in the air to scare them. Hearing the gunshot, a police team from Bank More police station, located just 100 meters away, under the supervision of officer-in-charge PK Singh, reached the spot.

Dhanbad SSP Sanjeev Kumar confirmed that one dacoit was killed and two others were arrested. The manager of the finance company is said to be injured in the incident. The police have started a probe.
