According to the information, a demonstration was organised at Jantar Mantar by a Supreme Court advocate on Sunday. Though permission was not given by Delhi Police for this, the rally was organised and hundreds of people took part in it. Some videos of this demonstration have gone viral, in which the advocate was seen raising objectionable slogans against a religious community.
Organised under the Bharat Jodo Andolan, sources say that this demonstration was organised to demand the repeal of some of the laws of the British era. However, some people started raising objectionable slogans.
Police say that due to the DDMA Act, the protest was not allowed here. They later came to know that about 50 people were coming to the spot and gradually, a large number of people gathered and raised slogans.
According to Delhi Police spokesperson Chinmoy Biswal, a case has been registered at the Connaught Place police station in this connection. The accused are being identified by scrutinising the footage and video of this incident. Along with this, the organisers of the rally will also be questioned.
