New Delhi: The Delhi Police Crime Branch which is investigating the case of North-East Delhi riots that took place last year, intend to subject three Delhi Armed Police personnel to a lie detection test. The development assumes significance given the fact that the crime branch had identified three police personnel of having allegedly pressurized some youths, belonging to a particular community, to sing the national anthem. Also, during the incident, a young man had allegedly died due to police assault which led to a murder case being registered in this regard.
As per reports, a viral video of the incident that took place on 25th February 2020 had surfaced, in which some policemen were seen roughing up some youths brutally using lathis. The youths were then taken to the Jyoti Nagar police station and later released. Following this, an investigation was initiated, and several police personnel were interrogated by the SIT team of the Delhi Police Crime Branch.
