No personal enmity with Kangana, says Urmila Matondkar

There were differences with some people in the Congress

Urmila Matondkar had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections after joining the Congress party. However, after her defeat in this election, she had ideological differences with some of the leaders of the Congress party. Urmila Matondkar has said that even though she left the Congress party due to these ideological differences, she did not leave politics.

Learnt social work since childhood

My father was working in the National Service Force from a social service home. So I have had a passion for social work since childhood. Since my childhood, I have been secure, I am aware of how people's problems can be solved. I had left the Congress party after my disagreement with some people.

However, in the last few months, after Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray called me and told me that we need people in the field of literature and art and you should come to the Legislative Council, I had said yes to him.

Will work for women's issues

Urmila Matondkar has said that after being appointed at the member of the Legislative Council, she will fight for women's health, their education and other issues related to women. Shiv Sena is known as Marathi manus. Women have been given a special place in the Shiv Sena party and Shiv Sena women activists have taken to the streets from time to time to fight for justice and rights, she said. Urmila Matondkar said that during the Corona transition, Shiv Sainiks went to areas like Dharavi and risked their lives to control the transition.
