Srinagar (Jammu-Kashmir):The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday morning carried out fresh raids at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. The raids were carried out at various districts of Kashmir Valley, including Shopian, Anantnag and Bandipora. The agency, that is currently investigating the alleged terror funding case, is being assisted by the CRPF.
The anti-terror probe agency is carrying out searches at the premises linked to senior members of banned terror outfit Jamaat-e-Islami. A source said that the searches are underway in at least 40 locations.
In Srinagar, searches were carried out at the residence of Gazi Moin-ul Islam, a resident of Soura, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat son of Mohammad Jaffar Bhat HIG Colony Bemina, Bashir Ahmad Lone at Harwan and Faheem Ramzan at Lal Bazar. As per the reports, the Falah-e-Aam trust, owned by the JeM situated in Nowgam, was also raided.
In Budgam, NIA along with police, raided the residences of several Jamaat leaders in Soibug area. As per reports, the raids were carried out in the residence of Dr Mohammad Sultan Bhat, son of Lasse Bhat, who is staying in Pakistan since 2019, Ghulam Mohammad Wani and Gulzar Ahmad Shah. Raid is being carried out in Sholipora in the residence of Riyaz Ahmad Sofi son of Mohammad Sultan Sofi.
