Next Cong president will be Rahul Gandhi's son: UP minister

On a visit to Badaun to participate in a series of programmes, Uttar Pradesh law Minister Brajesh Pathak has said whoever will be the son of Rahul Gandhi after his marriage will go on to be the next president of the Congress party.

Badaun (Uttar Pradesh): Launching a scathing attack on the opposition parties, Uttar Pradesh Law Minister Brajesh Pathak has said that everyone knew who will be the next presidents of the Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) and claimed that the BJP will win more than 350 seats in 2022 state assembly elections.

Pathak, who arrived in the district Friday to participate in a series of programmes, made these remarks after unveiling a statue of Lord Parashuram at the newly constructed Parasuram Chowk in the city.

“Everyone knows who will be the next national president in the Congress party,” he said addressing the gathering that included Minister of State for Urban Development Mahesh Chand Gupta and Bareilly Mayor Umesh Gautam. “After the marriage of Rahul Gandhi, whoever will be his son will be the national president of Congress. At the same time, the next national president of the Samajwadi Party will also be the son of Akhilesh Yadav, everyone knows this. But there is not a single person who can tell who will be the next president of the Bharatiya Janata Party.”

The Law Minister said that in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the BJP will come to power again this time by winning more than 350 seats. He said that the opposition parties were nowhere to be seen for five years, whereas the BJP is the only party whose workers are serving the people and staying among them.

Talking to reporters after the programme, Pathak said that the opposition parties have neither any issue nor any policy.

“People have rejected them badly in the previous elections and in 2022 also people will reject them,” he asserted.

During the course of his visit, Pathak held a meeting with BJP workers at the PWD guest house and laid the foundation stone of a library to be constructed in the district bar.
