Chaibasa: Naxals blew up railway track in Jharkhand's Chaibasa in the wee hours of Sunday. Police said that restoration work on the Sonua-Chakradharpur route has been completed jointly by district police, bomb Detection & Disposal Squad, RPF & railway trackmen.
The Naxals also put up banners and hoardings claiming that there will be a Bharat Bandh in view of the farmers' protest.

The action by the Naxals halted the rail traffic for about an hour. The operation of several passenger trains like Howrah-Ahmedabad Express, Tata-Alleppey Express, Ahmedabad Express was halted.

"Naxals blew up a railway track b/w Sonua & Chakradharpur last night between 2-3 am. Anti-sabotage check done & restoration work completed jointly by dist police, Bomb Detection & Disposal Squad, RPF & railway trackmen. Traffic restored on other tracks," Chaibasa SP said.
