New Delhi:Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Navjot Singh Sidhu failed to get an appointment with party high command. Sidhu has been camping in Delhi since Wednesday to express his grievances against Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and others. After getting to fail an appointment with the Congress high command Sidhu headed back to Punjab.

While interacting with media, Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat said, "All is not well but we are heading towards solving problems." Rawat had a meeting with both Sidhu and Captain separately. According to sources, Rawat was being clearly instructed by the party high command to form coordination between both the leaders.

It has been informed that Sidhu complained to Rawat about the non-fulfilment of promises made by the Punjab Government in the previous assembly elections. He demanded that the Government must take a decision regarding the power tariffs. Rawat asked Sidhu to express his views to Captain personally, rather than posting on social media.

Rawat also said to Sidhu that the party high command wants the Congress party to win the upcoming Assembly Elections in Punjab with a huge margin and for that, both the organization and the Government needs to go hand in hand. Rawat said that infighting may affect the party's performance in the polls. Amarinder Singh was also given instructions and his demand for Cabinet reshuffle in view of Assembly polls was denied.

Sidhu, who has been at loggerheads with Captain Amarinder Singh, has been gearing up for Chief Minister's post. He has been slamming Amarinder Singh's policies and recently, he critiqued the Power Purchase Agreements, demanding extension of the Assembly session to one day to terminate it.

Meanwhile, on September 1, AICC general secretary Harish Rawat met Sidhu and the former said there was no dispute in the party's state unit and there was only one camp which is the Congress camp.

Four Ministers in Sidhu's camp have been demanding Amarinder Singh's resignation as he 'failed to resolve the issues in the state and did not fulfil promises made during the 2017 state election'. Four cabinet ministers and few party legislators had met Rawat in Dehradun on August 25 demanding Sidhu's appointment as CM candidate for the forthcoming Legislative Assembly elections in the state.

The feud between Sidhu and Amarinder Singh had a respite after the former was appointed as president of Punjab Congress by the high command in July.
