Murder accused uploads pornographic video from Bilaspur Jail, investigation launched

A murder accused incarcerated in Bilaspur Central Jail uploaded a child pornographic video, prompting civil line police authorities to start an investigation.

Bilaspur:Civil line police has launched an investigation after a murder accused lodged in Bilaspur Central Jail reportedly uploaded a pornographic video from one of the computers.

The accused, identified as Trilochan Devangan, was given some computer-related task under the Juvenile Justice Act and he uploaded a child pornographic video on July 20, 2020. However, the matter came to the fore on February 12.

National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) intimated the matter to the police headquarters stating that the video was uploaded from one of the computers in the jail. Police has registered a case and is locating the IP address.

Police officer Sanip Rane said that a child pornographic video was uploaded from one of the computers in the jail.

He said, "The police have registered a case under section 67 of the IT Act and other provisions of IPC Act. The accused was lodged in Bilaspur central jail in 2011 on murder charges."
