Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh top vaccination charts in 18 to 44 years age group

According to Health Ministry data, Gujarat has administered 1,62,66,019 first doses and 12,85,463 second doses. Madhya Pradesh administered 1,97,52,856 first doses and 13,59,974 second doses. Likewise, Maharashtra administered 1,60,04,569 first doses and 14,30,543 second doses.

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are the top five states who have immunised the maximum number of people between 18 to 44 years of age group with Covid-19 doses, according to Union health ministry.

According to Health Ministry data, Gujarat has administered 1,62,66,019 first doses and 12,85,463 second doses. Madhya Pradesh administered 1,97,52,856 first doses and 13,59,974 second doses. Likewise, Maharashtra administered 1,60,04,569 first doses and 14,30,543 second doses.

The data said that Rajasthan administered 1,47,13,442 first doses and 19,04,244 second doses. Whereas, Uttar Pradesh administered 2,83,89,841 first doses and 18,96,323 second doses to the 18-44 years age group. Overall 21,60,58,123 first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered across India followed by 1,92,54,925 second doses.

Keeping in mind the urgency of vaccination ahead of the third wave of the pandemic, the central government has ramped up the process of making more vaccines available and advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and Union Territories.

As on Tuesday, the government has supplied 57,15,22,580 doses of Covid-19 vaccines. With the approval of Zydus Cadila's ZyCoV-D, the world's first DNA vaccine against Covid-19, it is anticipated that availability of vaccines will become more seamless in the months to come.

Apart from ZyCoV-D, India at present has three More vaccines including Oxford Astra Zeneca's Covishield, manufactured by Serum Institute of India, Bharat Biotech's Covaxin and Sputnik.
