Srinagar:Two Pakistani LeT militants involved in the killing of a CRPF trooper in Srinagar's Lal Chowk on Monday were killed, while two cops and a CRPF trooper were injured in an encounter in the Beshambar Nagar area of Srinagar on Sunday, police said.
The incident took place in the Bishambarnagar area of Khanyar in Srinagar - a densely populated area located near the commercial center Lal Chowk, where a group of militants had attacked CRPF personnel in Maisuama last week, killing one of the CPRF officers and injuring another.
"Two Pakistani terrorists who were involved in the recent terror attack on CRPF personnel neutralized in Srinagar Encounter. Arms & ammunition, other incriminating materials recovered," IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said in a statement. Talking to reporters after the gunfight, the IGP identified the slain militants as Adil Bhai, a top LeT commander in central Kashmir, and Mubashir Bhai- both residents of Pakistan.
