Hyderabad: The pandemic has affected the young and old alike. While many young people may lose hope of surviving, stopping them from putting up a fight against the virus, there are many old people who not only defeated the virus but became an example of hope for others.
Like the grand-mothers of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh who defeated Covid-19 and started a new innings of life, a 60-year old grand-father of Maharashtra also defeated Covid-19 twice in six months.
The first wave of COVID was considered to be very dangerous for elderly people. But in the second wave, people of all ages are getting infected.

96-YEAR-OLD SHANTIBAI OF UJJAIN:
The 96-year-old Shanti Bai Dubey, who lives in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, got Covid-19 infected after which she was admitted to Index Medical College, Indore on April 8. The infection in Shanti Bai’s lungs had increased by 80 percent. Shanti Bai's condition had deteriorated so much so that she was put on oxygen. She, however, defeated thr virus. She was discharged on her birthday. Shanti Bai was born on Ram Navami in 1925 and she got a new life by defeating covid on the same day.
90-YEAR-OLD BEATS COVID TWO TIMES IN 6 MONTHS
Pandurang Atmaram Aglaway, a resident of the Beed district of Maharashtra, beat Covid twice. He was infected twice within six months but he won the battle both times.
Pandurang Atmaram Aglaway Pandurang was infected with Covid on November 13, 2020, after which he was admitted to the Covid Centre. After the treatment, he recovered and returned home and on March 30, 2021, he received a Covid vaccine.
He, however, again tested positive on April 3. He was barely able to breathe. His HRCT score was 18, which is considered high risk, but he again defeated Covid and returned home after being discharged on April 17.
Pandurang says that if we do not lose hope, then we can win with the Covid. He also said that one should stay positive. There is no need to be afraid of Covid-19. He also appealed to everyone to follow the Covid guidelines.

76-YEAR-OLD YASMIN HAD AN OXYGEN LEVEL OF 77
The 76-year-old grandmother Yasmin Rehman, a resident of Kachandur, Chhattisgarh won the battle against Covid-19. She was brought to Chandulal Chandrakar Covid Care Hospital on April 2. When Yasmin was brought to the hospital, her oxygen level was only 77. Yasmin was treated for 17 days and discharged on April 19.
76-YEAR-OLD KASTURI DEFEATED COVID
A 76-year-old elderly woman, Kasturi Bai Sahu, resident of Baloda Bazar, Chhattisgarh defeated Covid-19. She was admitted in a very critical condition on April 17 and was discharged after five days.
At the time of admission, her oxygen level was below 85. She was not even eating food. Due to this, giving treatment to her for the medical team was a big challenge. The elderly woman had body weakness as well. She was kept under the supervision of doctors for five days after which she returned home healthy.
